These microwave units are optimized for use in the laboratory. Contrary to household equipment, they have the following characteristics:
Exhaust air outlet
The exhaust air is removed via an air outlet fitting which can be connected to an air extractor. A condensation cooler can be mounted in the exhaust air stream to condensate vapors over a collection basin.
Media fittings
Two 13-mm hole connections are included for attaching hoses for feeding in media, extractions, and cooling agents. When a microwave unit is operated with no or very little material loaded in it, the unit may be damaged because the energy is not absorbed. For discharge of excess energy, the laboratory microwave unit 4000 may optionally be equipped with a flow cooler.
Magnetic mixer (optional)
As an alternative to the rotating plate, the model 4100 has a magnetic mixer. This enables the material being heated in the middle of the microwave device to be mixed during the heating process. The adjustable speed range of the mixer is 50 to 1200 rpm.
