VLM evaporator systems are used for gentle sample concentration. Nitrogen is dispensed into the sample vessels to evaporate the solvent until a residual volume remains or the solvent dries up. Metal block thermostat balance the resulting evaporative heat loss. The stream of nitrogen can be adjusted individually for each sample.
