PES membrane filters have an excellent flow rate and are suitable for quick filtration of tissue culture fluids, buffers and other aqueous solutions.
PTFE membrane filters are highly resistant to chemicals. They are primarily used for clarification filtration of concentrated acids or bases, solvents, alcoholic solutions, and for gas and air filtration. Owing to their hydrophobic properties, they must be moistened with ethanol or methanol prior to the filtration of aqueous fluids.
By reason of their high protein absorption capacity, PVDF membrane filter (hydrophilic) are often used for biological samples but are also suitable for a wide range of solvents, alcohols, weak acids, proteins, peptides, and other biomolecules.
CME membrane filters are the standard membrane filters for less critical applications, such as clarification filtration and sterile filtration of aqueous fluids, air particles analysis, biological applications, and microdialysis.
