Polystyrene filter units with 50, 75 and 90 mm dia. nylon membrane and red color coding. The nylon membrane has extremely low extractable levels (less than 0.5% by weight), is inherently hydrophilic and contains no wetting agent. These radiation-sterilized units are designed for sterilization of nutrients and other reagents used during work with tissue cultures and other highly sensitive cell cultures. The membrane is alcohol resistant. Filter bottle, filter bowl and cover are made of transparent polystyrene. All filtration units have a side arm with cotton wadding and a quick-disconnect tubing adapter.
Extremely stringent testing for cytotoxicity has been performed. To minimize contamination from mycoplasm or other microorganisms that penetrate a 0.2-µm membrane, nutrient media can be filtered once through a 0.1-µm membrane or twice through a 0.2-µm membrane.
Separate, transparent, sterile filter bottles available in sizes from 150 to 1000 ml.
Matching fiberglass prefilters are available for each size.
