The user selects the wavelength via an easy to use keypad. The large display indicates the wavelength, the extinction, and the transmission at the same time. The concentration is calculated by means of a factor; a matching concentration unit may be indicated as well. The large sample compartment enables a wide range of sampling devices to be fitted. A holder for rectangular 10 mm cuvettes is comprised in the delivery. As the unit is equipped with an interface and an analog output, it can also be used for kinetics or, combined with a flow cuvette, in chromatography.

The units allow for data transmission to a PC and can receive sample changers. The units 7310 and 7315 additionally offer the measuring modes quantification, spectrum scanning, and kinetics.
