Demineralizers, behropur®, Behr

behropur® mixed bed ion exchangers supply fully demineralized water in compliance with the following specifications:

  • Quality 3 in the sense of the classification pursuant to DIN ISO 3696:1987 – Water for analytical purposes
  • Pharmaceutical specification pursuant to VDI guideline VDI 2083 – Cleanroom technology. quality, generation, and distribution of ultrapure water
  • European and German Pharmacopoeia (Deutsches Arzneimittelbuch, DAB)
  • behropur® mixed bed ion exchangers contain resins of tested quality.

Absolutely even distribution of water within the unit ensures optimum utilization of the exchanger capacities for water with a very low conductivity over the whole capacity of the demineralizer.

1 behropur® demineralizers with unpressurized gravity-flow output

Practical mixed bed (anionic & cationic) ion exchanger in an especially thick-walled, robust blue polyethylene container with gravity-fed unpressurized output to a reservoir. It is also ideal for second stage deionization of output from reverse osmosis units and for use in aquaria containing particularly sensitive fish species.

  • Can be connected directly to the water line and is immediately ready for operation.
  • Since the water enters at the bottom of the canister, air is automatically displaced.
  • The polyethylene slit-jet does not provide breeding ground for bacteria.
  • The slit-jet unit is robust and easily cleaned. It is impervious to damage resulting from mechanical stress or water pressure.
  • The slit-jet unit is sealed into the canister base by means of a special Behr thermal fusion process. A secure and leak-proof bond results.
  • Conductance meter is mounted directly on canister.
  • The B 5 and B 10 canisters may be wall-mounted using the provided mounting brackets.
  • Automatic shutoff at preselectable limits and levels.
  • Conductance is monitored by meter mounted directly an resin canister. Also available with remote-location meter.

2 behropur® demineralizers with nylon resin canisters - operating pressures up to 8 bar

User-friendly and reliable mixed bed ion exchanger for low to medium volume high purity water requirements. Optimal for glassware washers, general laboratory use and for smaller industrial applications. Suitable for second stage purification in conjunction with reverse osmosis units.

  • Optimal exploitation of the full ion exchange capacity by means of absolutely uniform water distribution through the resin bed.
  • May be connected directly to water supply without a pressure reducer.
  • Resistant to load cycles.
  • Conductance is monitored by meter mounted directly on resin canister; also available with remote-location meter.
  • Optional automatic shutdown at preselectable limits and levels.

3 behropur® mixed bed stainless steel ion exchange units - operating pressures up to 10 bar

Standard canister made of V4A stainless steel with widespread applicability. Useful for water supply of lab glassware washers, general laboratory pure water supply and low-demand industrial applications. Also suitable as a second stage purification following reverse osmosis units.

  • Optimal exploitation of the full ion exchange capacity by means of absolutely uniform water distribution through the resin bed.
  • Throughput rates up to 700 l/h.
  • May be connected directly to water supply without a pressure reducer.
  • Resistant to damage from water pressure peaks and variation.
  • Hard rubber collars vulcanized onto the base and top of the canister provide effective protection.
  • Convenient carrying handles molded into the upper protective collar.
  • Conductance monitor with meter mounted directly on resin canister. Also available with remote-location meter.

Particle-free water: behropur® filter FG 130

Working downstream of the ion exchanger, the filter fully retains even the finest particles to protect your valuable equipment. The transparent enclosure of the FG 130 allows you to check the condition of the filter cartridge at one glance.

Depending on the requirements, use a universal filter (5 µ) or an activated carbon filter (20 µ). Downstream filters must only be used with pressure-resistant behropur® ion exchangers. Unpressurized exchangers would be destroyed by the counterpressure. Risk of expensive consequential damages!
