The racks are open at the front. There are openings in the side and back panels. The tiers of the rack are inserted into the side - back panel and locked in placed. Extremely stable design, very simple construction makes them easy to assembly. Alphanumeric marking at the openings, stackable. The side / back panel and the lowest tier are blue on all size racks. Both upper tiers that hold the microtubes are color coded by size.
